To the Editor:

Last month, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office helped me handle a difficult situation, and they did it with great effectiveness and professionalism.

Members of the office, including Sergeant Charles Gardner, Sgt. Ray Arnett and especially Detective Garland Mills, went above and beyond to support, protect, and facilitate an effective and amicable resolution of the situation, which stretched over several of the hottest days of the summer.

I can’t thank them enough, and commend the entire office, its staff and its leaders, Sheriff Ashland Fortune and Major Donald Lowe, for holding themselves to high professional standards. I am forever grateful.
