The National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for Louisa County and surrounding areas, to go into effect at midnight tonight until 5 a.m. on Sunday.
Total ice accumulation of a quarter- to a half-inch is expected. Power outages and tree damage are also expected and travel could be very difficult.
Virginia Department of Transportation reports that it is concentrating snow removal this afternoon on secondary roads and neighborhood streets across the Culpeper District. They will continue that work around the clock until all state-maintained roads are passable.
