To the editor:
The president has signed into law the coronavirus relief legislation that was hammered out in Congress. I feel I owe a debt of gratitude to our legislators who worked with those “across the aisle” to come to agreement on a package to help us.
Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, and Representative Abigail Spanberger worked to make sure that the bill will help all of us here in central Virginia, as well as across the country. Not only will our government be sending a check to each of us (except those who already have high incomes), but also will provide small business support to get them through this make-or-break time, support for schools and community-action groups, hospitals and health care, and to states for virus relief and unemployment expansion.
No legislation is perfect, and we might wish for more help, or for less. But meanwhile ... Thank you, Abigail and Tim and Mark! Good job!
