Library to offer in-person appointments starting Sept. 21

As Jefferson Madison Regional Library continues to work with local health authorities and to provide important services to the community, the library has announced its plans to move into Tier 3 limited in-branch appointment services for some branches and to extend curbside services at other locations.

Library Director David Plunkett said the changes at each branch reflect careful consideration of current COVID-19 data, consultation with local government partners and the needs of the individual communities.

“JMRL has worked hard to be able to reopen some doors, and is looking forward to the opportunity to serve the people of Louisa inside library buildings again. The library knows that the people in these communities need access to the resources in their local libraries, and are glad to be able to offer these again on a limited and safe basis,” he said.

Tier 3 services will include limited in-person appointment services for up to 45 minutes for five individuals at a time. Appointments will be offered at the Louisa branch starting on Monday, September 21.

It’s important to note that curbside and appointment services will not always both be available at the same time and patrons should contact their local branch with any questions.
