On December 8th the Louisa County Commission on Aging hosted the annual Holiday Luncheon for seniors and their caregivers.

For over 20 years, with the exception of 2020 and 2021, this popular free event has been held annually for older Louisa residents.
This year, as attendees helped themselves to an array of appetizers, Santa and his elves distributed well over 130 gift bags, one to each guest.
The Big Gavel Band provided rock, country and Christmas tunes during the festivities, with a break for a special performance and sing-along with the Louisa County Middle School Choir, led by Director Sharon Wills.

The Blue Ridge Health District provided seniors with the latest COVID vaccine for those who wanted to catch up on their vaccinations.
After a blessing by Rev. Dr. Sandra K. Goehring, Pastor of the Louisa Presbyterian Church, guests feasted on a traditional holiday meal of turkey, ham, stuffing, and all the fixin’s. Members of the Commission served more than 160 dinners to guests.
Throughout the luncheon, guests could visit tables and obtain information from more than 20 nonprofit organizations, businesses, and county agencies providing services and programs for older residents.
