Two juveniles will be charged with vandalism in town of Louisa

Two juveniles will be charged with breaking a car window and participating in other vandalism in the town of Louisa on Aug. 25.

Louisa Town Police Chief Tom Leary said four juveniles are believed to have been involved in the mischief, which took place overnight in several locations in the downtown area. The car with the broken window was parked on Lyde Avenue.

Town police Sgt. Terry Tussing is finalizing a petition against the two youths in Louisa Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

The juveniles are believed to have entered a parked school bus, although it was not damaged. They also overturned chairs in front of Obrigados Restaurant and tore down plastic flags hanging at Village Furniture, Leary said.

Two of the juveniles are from Louisa County, and the others are from Richmond.

The chief said video recordings of the youths’ activities helped in solving the case.

“In a quiet town where these things tend not to happen, it’s worrisome,” Leary said.
