Upcoming vaccine opportunities in Louisa County

Blue Ridge Health District will offer COVID-19 vaccines at Mineral Farmers Market this Saturday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. The market is on Louisa Avenue in the town of Mineral. No appointment needed.

The health district will also offer vaccines at a clinic at the metal gym behind Louisa County Middle School next Wednesday, June 16. This is a walk-in event – no appointment is necessary. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; the district will offer the Pfizer vaccine. This vaccine requires a second dose to be fully effective.

The address of the middle school's metal gym is 1015 Davis Highway in Mineral.

Health officials also plan to offer the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine at Mineral Baptist Church on Saturday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The church is at 51 Louisa Avenue in the town of Mineral.

Walk-ins are also accepted at Walmart in Zion Crossroads for all three vaccines, including Moderna. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m. on Sundays; 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on other weekdays; and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays.
