A Louisa County woman was charged with shooting her husband at their Chopping Road home.
Rae Cherry, 72, was arrested on April 8 and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm to commit a felony and discharging a firearm within an occupied dwelling, according to Louisa County Sheriff's Office Major Ronnie Roberts.
The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. in the 3900 block of Chopping Road.
Cherry was released from Central Virginia Regional Jail on Monday on a $50,000 secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in Louisa Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on July 9.
