Dorothy Bowman Minnick

Dorothy Bowman Minnick, 89, of Blackstone, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James W. Minnick. 

Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Linda Long Brown (Sammy) and Sharon A. Nalley (Raymond), all of Blackstone; a son, Steven G. Long, of Florida; five grandchildren, David, Nathan, Michael, Steven and Angel; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jody, Korey, Austin and Vincent; three great-great-grandchildren, Rowan Grace, Isaiah and Shiloh; a brother, Chuck Bowman, of Florida. 

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was a feisty lady of her retirement community, where she resided and loved for her last years.  

Her remains rested at Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Blackstone, VA 23824, until Wednesday, February 24 at 5 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021, in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, 10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, VA  22553.  Rev. Randy Baisey will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Hospice, 7229 Forest Ave., Ste. 213, Richmond, VA  23226 www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com.
