Edith Marie Perkins Bickley, 88, of Beaverdam, VA, passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2023, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Dell and Blanche Perkins. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Frank N. Bickley, her sister, Doris Meredith, brothers, John, Cecil, Charles, Dell Perkins, Jr.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Kathy Bickley Harman (James Alvin), two grandsons, James Brian Harman (Emily) and Bryce Norman Harman, two great-granddaughters, Bailey and Kennedy Harman, brother, Bernard Earl Perkins (Clarice), and sister Margaret Chodosh (Lance), as well as sisters-in-law, Hazel Perkins, and Julia Ware. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
The family would also like to thank her caretaker, Rosie Dunn for her wonderful care.
Marie was a retired postmaster in Partlow, homemaker, farmer, and member of Rouzie’s Chapel United Methodist Church for 68 years. Marie showed a life of faith, hard work, and love for her family.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20th, 2023, at Woodward Funeral Home from 12pm to 2pm. A funeral service will be held at 2pm. A graveside service will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rouzie’s Chapel United Methodist Church 21089 Green Bay Rd. Beaverdam, VA 23015.
