Elwood Samuel Shiflett, 68, of Mineral passed away peacefully at his home on January 1, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis Marvin and Mary Elizabeth (Stanley) Shiflett and two brothers, David and Curtis “CM” Shiflett.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beccia (Bauserman) Shiflett; one son, Jamie Shiflett; two daughters, Melissa “Missy” Fuller and Kimberly Spath (Andrew), of Mineral; one brother, Alvin (Vicki), of Bumpass; and four sisters, Rose Vayo, of Louisa, Carolyn Williams (Dave), of Tappahannock, Arlene Henry, of Florida and Francis Rewis (Danny), of Georgia; one granddaughter, Jessica “Jessie” Pritchett (Aaron), of Louisa; and three grandsons, James (Jay) Fuller, Garrett Spath and Cameron Spath, of Mineral; one great-granddaughter; three great-grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was born and raised in Louisa County and was a graduate of Louisa County High School. He was an avid hunter but most of all enjoyed fishing with his best friend, Bobby Fielder.
Graveside services are to be determined at a later date.
