Robert C. Bunting Sr., 90, passed away July 8th, 2019 in his home in Bumpass. He was born Aug. 22, 1928 in Portsmouth to Carlyle and Lillian Bunting.
He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1956, and was an iron worker, who worked hard to become a business agent for the Local Union #28 out of Richmond. After completing two terms, he worked as superintendent for numerous commercial structural steel and rigging companies.
He was a jokester and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved to go boating, spend time on the river and with his great grandchildren. He was a spiritual man and was involved with the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy W. Bunting; son, Robert C. Bunting Jr. and his wife; grandchildren, Amy Wilson and her husband, and Robert C. Bunting III; great-grandchildren, Hope Matkins, Katelyn Wilson, Hayden Bunting, Breeana Wilson, Courtney Wilson, Ainsley Bunting and Brice Wilson.
Family, friends and others whose lives Bob touched are invited to Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on July 12 for visitation. A graveside service will be held on July 13 at 11 a.m. at South Anna Baptist Church, 9071 Cross County Rd., Mineral.
