William Joseph Pace Jr.

William Joseph Pace Jr., known to most as “Junnie,” entered into eternal rest on July 2, 2019. He was born on Aug. 28, 1945 to the late William Pace Sr. and Florence Harris Pace.

He attended Louisa County schools and was a 1963 graduate of A. G. Richardson High School. Junnie was a member of Philippi Christian Church where he served on the usher ministry.

In 1974, he married Leatrice Coles. This union created their loving son, Jermaine Pace Sr.

In 2006, after 40 years of service, he retired from the county of Henrico.

One of the things Junnie loved to do was talk. For years he was known as the community plumber.

Junnie was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carolyn Chambers.

He leaves a loving family to cherish his memory; a devoted wife, Leatrice; a loving son, Jermaine Sr. (Jackie); grandsons, Jermaine Pace Jr., Sunta Grimm (Myra) and Jhalil Parrish; brothers, Freeman Pace (Teresa), of Mineral, Bernard Pace, of Goochland, and Franklin Pace (Rosa), of Clinton, Maryland; sister, Shirley Overton (Bill), of Fort Washington, Maryland; aunts, Sadie Johnson, of Mineral, Laura Evans, of Richmond, Helen Jones, of Washington, D. C., and Edna Athy, of Richmond; uncles, Leroy Pace (Maxine), of Goochland, and Lewis Pace (Anna), of Goochland;  mother-in-law, Marian Harris, of Louisa; brother-in-law, George Harris Jr. (Barbara); a very devoted friend, Pastor Temple Anderson Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on July 7 at Philippi Christian Church, Mineral. Rev. Temple Anderson Sr. officiatied and Rev. Alex Shelley was the eulogist. Interment followed in Spring Grove Cemetery.
