To the editor:
The 17th annual Relay For Life of Louisa beauty pageant was held on Saturday, July 25. The pageant is held each year as a fundraiser.
All proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society organization in an effort to help find a cure. The volunteers who assist with the pageant, sponsors and contestants and their families all play an essential role in helping make this a successful fundraiser.
I’d like to thank each of the 36 contestants and their families for supporting this very important event. I also appreciate each of the volunteers who work behind the scenes to make it all possible.
Special thanks to James Smith and the Louisa County Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department for providing the venue and Orange Madison Co-op’s Orange store for donating plants for decoration.
Also, I want to extend my appreciation to Pepsi for donating drinks, and North Star Press in Louisa for printing the programs.
A big thank you goes out to Tyler Johnson, our master of ceremonies, who did a fabulous job of emceeing the event.
We appreciate the community’s support in helping raise monies to hopefully, one day, find a cure for this terrible disease.
