The Louisa County High School indoor track and field team traveled to Lynchburg last weekend for the Liberty Premier Invitational at Liberty University.
More than 120 teams from across Virginia participated in the meet held at Liberty’s indoor track complex.
Savion Hiter led all Lions with a fourth-place finish in the boys long jump (21’ 0.25”), posting a season-best leap.
The Lions’ 4 x 800 relay team also recorded a season best (8:43.83) and finished sixth.

The boys’ 4 x 400 relay team was 14th with a time of 3:45.57, while William Moore ran a season-best 2:42.44 in the 1000 to place 14th. Justin Davenport recorded a season-best in the pole vault (11’) to finish 15th, while Devonte Anderson tossed the shot put a season-best 39’ 1.75” to finish 20th.
The girls’ 4 x 800 relay team ran a season-best 10:36.80 to place eighth. Kennedy Harris was 12th in the 3200 (12:32.28). Angel David was 14th in the long jump (14’ 6”), with teammate Takiyah Anderson 15th with a season-best of 13’ 5.75.” David also placed 17th in the triple jump (32’ 3.5.”)
Other Lion girls who posted season-bests include: Dana Freimane (300 meters, 47.25 and triple jump, 29’ 10.25”); Nikyah Davis-Lee (300, 59.97); Aaryn Grooms-Key (triple jump, 29’ 0.25”); and Kysia Johnson (shot put, 26’ 6.5”).
Louisa boys recording season-bests included: Aiden Shaw (55 meters, 7.53 and 300 meters, 43.16); Taylen Soriano (500, 1:14.72); William Moore (1000, 2:42.44); Casen Soriano (1600, 5:35.23); and Marcus Jones (shot put, 34’ 0.5”).
The Lions traveled to Fork Union Wednesday for the FUMA Mini Invite (after presstime).
