Lady linkster competes at states

Louisa County High School golfer Emma Zelaski represented the Lions in the Virginia High School League Girls’ Open Championship, held at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Harrisonburg on Oct. 25.

The sophomore player finished the tournament with a score of 78 in a four-way tie for 28th place out of 66 golfers, along with Jennifer Osborne of Stone Bridge, Hanna Borgstrom of Grafton and Macy Johnston of Salem.

“Emma played exceptionally well and has improved so much [this season],” said Coach Neal Moubray. “I’m very proud of the season she had.”

Western Albemarle’s Elsie McCleery won the championship title in a match of cards after finishing the tournament with a score of 70.
