Louisa Little League’s 7-9 year-old all-star baseball team played the first games of their double-elimination tournament this weekend in Gordonsville.

Louisa’s team opened the tournament on June 15 with a strong opening statement, defeating Gordonsville 16-6. Louisa opened the game with three runs in the first inning, then scored five in both the second and third before closing things out with three more runs in the fourth.

“The boys came out ready to play,” team manager Reed Davis said. “Everyone did a phenomenal job.”

Jonah Brown pitched three of the game’s four innings for Louisa, giving up two runs.
