The Louisa Lions golf team traveled to Meadows Farms Golf Course on Aug. 30 for a tri-match with Culpeper and Spotsylvania. The Lions brought home the win with a team score of 173.
Evan Straley shot 39 to lead the Lions, followed by Emma Zaleski with 40. Connor Downey and Lee Sisk rounded out the team score, carding 46 and 48, respectively. Lewis French and Ashton Rollins also played for Louisa, ending the day with scores of 49 and 50.
Culpeper’s Nathan Amos earned medalist honors for the match with a score of 37. The Blue Devils finished second with a score of 176, while Spotsylvania’s golfers combined for a team score of 184.
The Lions hosted the Charlottesville Black Knights at Cutalong on Sept. 1. Results of the match were unavailable at press time. The Lions hit the road again on Sept. 8, traveling to Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville to take on the Albemarle Patriots. The match begins at 5 p.m.
