Louisa’s golf team stepped out of the district on March 24 for a match against region 4B opponents Chancellor and King George. The Lions picked up the win with a score of 177.
Zane Moore led the Lions with 40, edging out Chancellor’s Kai Crockett for medalist honors. Lee Sisk followed with 45, while Emma Zelaski and Nate Feagans both shot 46 to round out the Lions’ team score. Evan Straley and Perry Hopkins also played for Louisa, carding respective scores of 48 and 54.
“Overall, I was happy with how the team performed because conditions were awful,” said head coach Neal Moubray. “They pushed through the poor weather and managed to get the wins.”
Chancellor carded a team score of 190 and King George had 205.
The Lions close out their regular season with a home match against Albemarle at Cutalong on April 5, then travel to Lake Monticello golf course on April 7 for the Jefferson District tournament.
