Louisa County High School’s track and field teams swept Wednesday’s meet at Fluvanna with both the girls’ and boys’ teams winning by comfortable margins.
The Lion girls (167.66) more than doubled second-place Albemarle (77), with Fluvanna (67) third and Monticello (26) fourth.
The Louisa boys (120) finished well ahead of second-place Albemarle (75), with Blue Ridge School (69) third and Fluvanna (65) fourth.
Eight schools participated in the meet in Palmyra.

The girls won eight events with more than three dozen finishing in the top five and earning points.
The boys won 11 events with 20 top-five finishes.
Savion Hiter won the 100 meters (11.11) and the 200 meters (23.07), as well as sweeping the long jump (22’ 6.25”) and triple jump (41’ 7.25”).
Nathaniel Wilson won the 400 (53.14), just ahead of Aaron Pugh in second (55.97).
William Moore won both the 800 (2:04.76) and the 1600 (4:41.01).
Hayden Ribbentrop took first in the 110 hurdles (16.68) and second in the 300 hurdles (43.08).
Justin Davenport won the pole vault (10’ 6”) with teammates Colin King (10’) and Jackson Klapak (9’ 6”) finishing in order behind him.
The boys’ 4 x 800 relay (Gavin Myers, Joshua Dwyer, Sawyer Harris and Aaron Pugh) finished first (10:00.03), as did the 4 x 400 relay team of Tristen Athey, Aaron Pugh, Colin King and Nathaniel Wilson (3:40.16).
Athey finished third in the triple jump (35’ 11”) followed by Gabriel Maddox in fourth (35’ 3.25”).
Devonte Anderson added a fourth in the shot put (39’ 8”) and a fifth in the discus (113’), with Hunter Matney finishing fifth in the shot put (39’).
For the girls, Angel David won the 100 hurdles (17.36) and the 300 hurdles (50.56), as well as the long jump (15’ 4.5”) and the triple jump (33’ 9”).
Taylor Waddy swept the shot put (34’ 7”) and the discus (100’ 3”) events.
Hanna Ryan won the high jump (4’ 10”), with teammates Anari Harris (4’ 10”) in second and Ianna Frederick and Dana Freimane (4’ 6”) tied for third.
Freimane was second in the triple jump (31’ 5.5”) and third in the long jump (14’ 9.5”).
Brittany Vassell was fourth in the long jump (13’ 11.75”) and fifth in the triple jump (30’ 3”). Anari Harris was fourth in the triple jump (31’ 0.5”) and Samira Carter was fifth in the long jump (13’ 10.5”).
Louisa’s 4 x 400 relay team (Dana Freimane, Sandra Davenport, Nicole Creel and Hannah Ryan) finished first (4:25.18) with Wendy Espinoza, Aaryn Grooms-Key, Mary Thompson and Marion Zimmerman placing third (5:01.20).
The girls’ 4 x 100 relay (Angel David, Anari Harris, Aaryn Grooms-Key and Arianna Jones) finished second (53.47).
The girls’ 4 x 800 relay team (Kennedy Harris, Brooklyn Nemec, Chloe Caijigas and Amira Jones) was third (11:22.32).
Marion Zimmerman was second in the 100 hurdles (17.99), followed by Takiyah Anderson in third (20.35). Zimmerman also was third in the 300 hurdles (55.08), and Emma Ryan was fifth (1:01.82).
Maeve Myers finished second in both the 1600 (5:32.93) and the 3200 (12:37.54).
Lilian Liles was third in the 3200 (13:21.65) with Brooklyn Nemec fifth (13:42.79). Kennedy Harris was fourth in the 1600 (5:42.14).
Sandra Davenport placed second in the 400 (1:05.73), followed by Nicole Creel (1:06.47) in third and Dereon Hunter (1:07.54) in fourth.
Elizabeth Middlesworth was fourth in the 800 (2:34.05), while Arianna Jones was fourth in both the 100 (13.28) and 200 (27.05). Dereon Hunter was fifth in the 100 (13.59).
Makayla Clark was third in the shot put (27’ 4”) and Langley Amiss was fourth in the discus (79’ 3”).
The Lions host their second mini-invite Wednesday (after presstime) and then compete in the Dogwood Track Classic May 5.
