Thursday, April 2
St. James Episcopal Church (102 Ellisville Dr., Louisa) will hold Holy Week Services Thursday, April 2, Maundy Thursday, at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, April 3, Good Friday, at Noon; Sunday, April 5, Easter Sunday, at 10:00 a.m. A Sunrise Service will also be held Sunday, April 5, Easter Sunday, at 6:30 a.m. at St. John’s Chapel (2217 E Green Springs Rd, Louisa). A Maundy Thursday Communion Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Mechanicsville Baptist Church, 10200 Louisa Road, Gordonsville. All are welcome.
On Maundy Thursday, the men of Kirk O’ Cliff Presbyterian Church, 16420 Monrovia Rd, Mineral VA, will be performing a dramatization of Leonardo DaVinci’s painting of the Lord’s Last Supper. The worship service, with communion, will begin at 6:00 p.m. Preceding the service, at 5:00 p.m., there will be a light dinner of soup and salad. All are welcome.
Friday, April 3
The Louisa County Sunday School Union will sponsor “Good Friday Night” service at 7p.m. on April 3, 2026 at Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church. “The Seven Last Expressions of Christ from the Cross”, will be given by local Pastors/Ministers. The Spirit of Truth Community Choir will render the music. The church is located at 4641 Chalk Level Road, Louisa.
Mineral and Mount Pleasant churches and their combined Choir will present a Good Friday Cantata service entitled, “The Seven Last Days” by Joel Raney. The service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Mineral UMC (301 W 3rd Street, Mineral) and will be offered in the tenebrae (service of shadows) form. All are invited to come and experience this moving portrayal of the last seven days of Jesus’ earthly ministry.
Saturday, April 4
County Lines Baptist Church (4070 County Line Rd, Kents Store) invites all to their Community Easter Egg Hunt. Enjoy searching for eggs, plus food, music and games. The event will be held from Noon to 2:00 p.m.
Macedonia Global Methodist Church (17 Byrd Mill Road, Louisa) will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Festivities start in the social hall with a “Palm Sundae” event, followed by the easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny. All are invited.
Sunday, April 5
Barn Christian Ministries (447 Waldrops Church Road, Louisa) invites the community to their Easter Sunrise Service.
Breakfast will be at 8:00 a.m. and the Easter Service and Worship will be at 9:00 a.m. The message will be given by Pastor Devin Watkins.
Mechanicsville Baptist Church (10200 Louisa Road, Gordonsville) will hold Easter Sunday Sunrise service at 7:00 a.m., Worship Service at 9:30 a.m., and Sunday School for all
ages 10:45 a.m. Macedonia Global Methodist Church (17 Byrd Mill Road, Louisa) will hold Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. at the cross, followed by breakfast and Easter Service at 9:00 a.m.
Elk Creek Baptist Church will hold an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. at the lakeside located at 5615 Kentucky Springs Road, Bumpass. The service will be followed by a brunch at the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome.
Eagle Baptist Church (4683 Mt Airy Road, Louisa) will have Sunrise Service conducted by Roger Baxton Sr. at 7:00 a.m. There will not be an 11:00 Service.
Sunrise service at Foster Creek Baptist Church (4028 E Jack Jouett, Louisa) will be held at 7:00 a.m., followed by breakfast. There will also be an Easter egg hunt after breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. All are invited.
Holly Grove Christian Church will have their Easter Worship Service at 8:00 a.m. The service will be outside near the old rugged cross and communion will be served. Rev. Bob Lane will give the message, the Easter story will be presented to the children and our choir will have special music. There will be a fellowship breakfast afterwards and also an Easter egg hunt for the children. In case of rain, the service will be inside. The Church is located at 1637 Holly Grove Drive, Bumpass.
Tuesday, April 7 A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at Louisa County Library (881 Davis Hwy, Mineral) between 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. by appointment. Make an appointment at www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
Friday, April 10 Free tax preparation will be available. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide will offer this service to anyone of any age, but especially those 50 or older who cannot afford paid tax preparation. Sessions are by appointment only and will take place between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. at Louisa County Library (881 Davis Hwy, Mineral). Call 540-300-1360 for appointments and more information.
Sunday, April 12
The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), in partnership with Louisa Veterinary Service and Louisa CART, will offer a Spring Drive-Thru Rabies Clinic from Noon to 3:00 p.m. at Louisa County Fairgrounds (208 Fredericksburg Ave, Louisa). Rabies vaccinations will be available for $15 per animal (cash only). Pet owners are reminded that vaccinations are required by law and are essential in protecting both animals and the community from the spread of rabies.
