Gilboa Christian Church (6780 Jefferson Highway, Mineral) will hold its Free Community Dinner from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, bread and delicious deserts. All are welcome.
Friday, April 17 The Louisa County High School National Art Honor Society Showcase will run from April 17 to May 19 at Louisa Arts Center, with an opening reception April 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Curated by the LCHS High School Art Teachers, this exhibit showcases the work of the National Art Honor Society and seniors enrolled in the Advanced Art Class at LCHS. All are invited. Louisa Arts Center is located at (212 Fredericksburg Avenue, Louisa). The gallery is on the first floor.
BINGO Night sponsored by Belmont Club of Women will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Belmont Community Center, 7124 Belmont Road, Mineral on April 17, May 15 and June 19. Saturday, April 18 A Spring Yard and Bake Sale will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ebenezer UMC, 3092 Oakland Road, Louisa. Find household items, linens, tools and hardware, clothes, toys and collectibles. Enjoy delicious breakfast and lunch and bring home cakes, cookies, pies, breads, relish, jams and much more. All proceeds benefit Ebenezer and the United Women in Faith missions and projects.
Holly Grove Christian Church will hold a Yard Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The sale will take place at the garage across the street from the church located at 1637 Holly Grove Drive, Bumpass.
Join Louisa Parks & Rec for Community Park Connection, a monthly park party made for families to relax, play, and connect. Each meet-up features easy, self-guided activity stations that invite kids to explore, imagine, and move at their own pace—while parents get a chance to mingle with other local families. The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) will hold a dinner to raise scholarship money for students in Louisa, Fluvanna, and Goochland counties. The program, beginning at 5:00 p.m. will commemorate the historic Rosenwald schools in those counties. The dinner will be held in the Goochland Central High School & Cultural Education Center at 2748 Dogtown Road. Tickets sell $40/adults and $20 for children under 12. The 2026 Lake Anna Wine & Brew Fest supporting New Bridge Station 8 emergency services will be held from Noon to 6:00 p.m. adjacent to Lake Anna Plaza Event Grounds (208 Lake Front Dr, Mineral). Spend the afternoon sampling and savoring some of the region’s premier wineries and breweries, enjoying food from local businesses and listening to live music. Louisa County Historical Society will host a free Heritage Day at 214 Fredericksburg Ave, Louisa from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Experience the richness of Louisa County history and step back in time through living history demonstrations including hearth-cooking, spinning, blacksmithing, and more. The event will include children’s activities, craft and food vendors, and music. Heritage Day will be held rain or shine.
Macedonia Global Methodist Church Women’s Group will hold their annual yard sale from 8:00 to 12:00. The entire social hall is overflowing with household items, clothes, furniture, etc.
Proceeds go to supporting community and church projects. The church is located at 17 Byrd Mill Road, Louisa.

Children 6-15 years of age with special needs are invited to participate in an afternoon experiencing the joy of fishing with the assistance of the Youth Anglers from the Lake Anna Elite Anglers fishing team from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Lake Anna State Park. The Virginia Chapter of Breakthrough T1D (Type 1 Diabetes) is hosting a fundraising walk to build community and raise money to cure Type 1 Diabetes for Albemarle, Louisa, Green, Fluvanna and Nelson counties, as well as the City of Charlottesville.

Plants and More Yard Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Belmont Community Center, 7124 Belmont Road, Mineral. Select from a wide range of plants from the gardens of Deep Roots Home and Garden Center, including perennials, annuals and other garden favorites. Mineral Baptist Church (51 Louisa Avenue, Mineral) will host manna & melodies on Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. It will be an afternoon of youthled worship, creative arts ministry, and music, praise & fellowship. The potluck luncheon theme will be median foods and attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite dish to share.
Ebenezer United Methodist Church (3092 Oakland Road, Louisa) will hold a Homecoming starting at 10:00 a.m.
All are invited to join for worship, song, food and fellowship. Music will be provided by Jeff Stone and the Virginia Gospel Singers, followed by lunch.

Thursday, May 7 The 75th Annual National Day of Prayer Community Prayer Service will be held at Noon on the Louisa County courthouse lawn, with live music beginning at 11:30 a.m. This non-denominational service will be led by community leaders and pastors, elected officials and local citizens. In case of rain, the service will be held at New Life Community Church, 509 E. Main Street, Louisa.
