On April 23, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) received a report of a child struck by a vehicle in the 2000 block of Indian Creek Road in Mineral.

Upon arrival, LCSO deputies, along with Louisa County Fire & EMS personnel, located an 18-month-old toddler who had been struck in a residential driveway. Despite immediate response efforts, the child was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate this incident appears to be a tragic accident. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
