The Local Louisa promotes community talent
Showcasing local talent is the goal of The Local Louisa, a new small business located at 100 Church Avenue adjacent to the Avenue ArtHouse and across from the train depot. They had their “soft launch” on May 2.
What tipped you off, Perry?
We have a modest TV satellite plan and no subscription or streaming services, so we get a very basic package of programming. Sometimes I get envious when friends talk about outstanding series they follow, but frankly, we are just not going to spend the money. No, we continue to watch the basics, some ESPN, and reruns.

Thursday, May 7 The 75th Annual National Day of Prayer Community Prayer Service will be held at Noon on the Louisa County courthouse lawn, with live music beginning at 11:30 a.m. This nondenominational service will be led by community leaders and pastors, elected officials and local citizens. In case of rain, the service will be held at New Life Community Church, 509 E. Main Street, Louisa.
Pamela Lynn Martin
Pamela Lynn Martin passed away on December 8, 2025, which happened to be her 73rd birthday. The family is honoring her with a memorial that will take place on May 16, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Betty Queen Center, 522 Industrial Drive in Louisa.
