No Kings!

On March 28, individuals gathered in front of the Louisa Circuit Courthouse and along Main Street to protest the Trump administration.
The “No Kings” protests reportedly involve more than 3,000 events nationwide, with demonstrators opposing perceived authoritarianism and executive overreach, as well as raising concerns about immigration, economic conditions, civil rights, and the protection of democratic institutions.
The Louisa protest was organized in part by the Louisa County Democratic Committee (LCDC) with additional participants joining from across Central Virginia.
LCDC Chairman Mark Itzkoff provided commentary on the PA system as drivers passed along Main Street. Protestors recited numerous chants directed at President Trump, including “He wasn’t shot, he didn’t win, name the [Epstein] files after him.”
The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office had officers nearby to ensure there was no violence , and the event ended without incident. The protest marked the fourth of its kind in the span of a year.
Karen Drayski is a resident of Charlottesville that was invited to attend the protest by family in Louisa.
“What you are witnessing is civic engagement at an all time high due to an authoritarian regime,” Drayski stated. “ICE is also going to be at the polls during this upcoming election, which is completely unacceptable. We have to keep being vocal about these types of issues before it’s too late and we no longer have a democracy.”
