Dan Ferrell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family and was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Dan was a man whose life was defined by loyalty, hard work, generosity, and a deep devotion to the people he loved most. His presence brought strength, laughter, and comfort to generations of family and friends, and his legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
Born to Evelyn Ferrell and Raymond Ferrell, Dan grew up rooted in family values that remained at the center of his life. This showed in his work in the two businesses he owned, Ferrells Termite and Pest Control, Inc. and Ferrells Mold service and in his farming at Ferrells Heavenly Rain or Shine Ranch. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Woodson.
He is survived by his siblings Peggy Stoneman (Wilmer), Jody Gonner, David Ferrell, and Kathy Glazebrook (Kelly) and his brother in-laws, Woody Woodson and Thomas Woolard, Sr. all of whom shared in a lifetime of memories with him. Dan shared nearly 30 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Michelle Ferrell. Together, they built a life centered on family, resilience, and unconditional love. He was a proud and loving father to Daniel Allen Ferrell Jr. (Leigh); Daniel Ryan Ferrell (Caitlin); Jason Ferrell (Amanda); Aurora Gammon (Calvin); Adam Ferrell; Hilary Skiles (Brian); and Grey Ferrell Jen) and his step-daughter, Teena Marie Cummings. Nothing brought Dan more pride than watching his children grow and build families of their own.
Dan also leaves behind a large and deeply cherished family of grandchildren: Taylor Ferrell; Trevor Ferrell; Trey Ferrell; Kara Carter (Trey); Kylee Wolfe; Kori Ferrell; Jayden Ferrell; Camdon Ferrell; Myles Stanley; Marshall Stanley; Alexis Gammon; Nevaeh Pritchett (Marcus); James Pritchett (Natalie); Ella Copeland; Greyson Ferrell; and Lily Hix. He was additionally blessed with two great-grandchildren, Karter Ferrell and Amaya Ferrell, who brought immense joy and light into his life. Dan will be remembered for the way he showed up for the people he loved — steady, dependable, and fiercely devoted. He believed family was life’s greatest blessing, and he created a foundation of love and togetherness that will continue for generations to come.
Though he will be deeply missed every day, his family finds comfort in knowing that his love, wisdom, and spirit remain woven into each of their lives forever.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Bethany Christian Church, 2402 Bethany Church Rd., Bumpass, VA, where his funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Private Interment will follow at the Ferrell Cemetery.
