Wayland Vaughan Harris, Jr. (Bubba) passed away on Monday, May 25 at his home on Sherway Farm in the Holly Grove community of Louisa County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland Vaughan Harris, Sr. and Jean Murphy Harris. He is survived by his loving sister, Sherry Harris Lacy and her husband Ray; his cherished niece, Caroline Lacy Reddy, her husband Sean, and their daughter Cecelia Jean; and beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A lifelong farmer, he devoted his life to working the land in partnership with his parents, operating a dairy farm of registered Holstein cattle, and later raising Angus cattle and hay. Farming was more than a livelihood–it was his passion. His dedication to the farm and to those around him will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 2 in Hopeful Baptist Church, Montpelier, where Bubba had been a member since childhood.
