Roger Lee Davis, Sr., 73, of Louisa, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Louisa Health & Rehab on August 1, 2026. Roger was born August 4, 1952, to Earl and Nannie Davis of Trevilians.

Roger was a hardworking man whose dedication and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on his community. In 1985, he built and opened Davis Body Shop, a business he proudly owned and operated until his retirement. Through decades of honest work, he earned the respect of countless customers and friends who came to know him not only for his skill but also for his integrity and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Roger was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the people he loved most. He cherished every opportunity to ride his Harley-Davidson trike, feeling most at home on the open road. Many who knew Roger also knew they could often find him at Sheetz, where he enjoyed sitting, visiting, and sharing stories with friends and familiar faces. Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing on the river with his family, making memories that will be treasured for generations.

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife and the love of his life, Judith Byiers Davis; his parents Earl and Nannie Davis; a host of brothers; and a sister.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Mitchell, of Richmond; son, Roger Davis, Jr. and wife Leanne, of Louisa; granddaughter, Samantha Maddra and husband Jeff, of Louisa; granddaughter, Nikki Brown and husband Jamie, of Bumpass; granddaughter, Ashleigh Nichols and husband Austin, of Louisa; grandson, Tyler Davis and partner Briyer, of Louisa; great-grandson, Lucas Brown, of Bumpass; great-granddaughter, Jacquelyn Maddra, of Louisa; brother, Jimmy Davis, of Louisa; and numerous other beloved family and friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Louisa Health & Rehab for the kindness, compassion, and exceptional care they showed Roger during his final days. Their support and dedication brought comfort not only to Roger, but to his family and friends as well.
