With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Wooley who went home to be with the Lord on July 30th 2026 at the age of 87.

Pat was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on October 14, 1938 and spent much of her early life in Baltimore, Maryland. She was part of the first graduating class of Parkville High School and followed her parents to Miami, Florida where she later met her husband and spent many years as a home maker before moving to Louisa, Virginia in 1975. While not native to Louisa County, she spread her roots deep as secretary of the local AARP chapter and as a devoted member of South Anna Baptist Church for almost 50 years.

Pat will be remembered by so many for her devotion to family. She had 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and counting, and she always went out of her way to be present in their lives and all of their milestones, no matter how far away they found themselves. Pat will also be remembered for her legacy in scouting. Joining as a girl she spent many happy years camping and learning along side her mother as a Troop Leader. This was a tradition she carried on later by becoming the Troop Leader for Troop 449 in the VA Skyline Council and leading her daughters, Maryann and Sharon, through their own set of adventures. Pat’s other passions included raising chickens and geese, and rooting for the Baltimore Orioles.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents Russel Conrad Messmer and Mary Etta Messmer as well as her older sister Mary Lou Stahl, and her husband, Ed Wooley. She leaves behind her daughter Maryann Marshall, her son Bill Wooley and her daughter Sharon Cardinal and her grandchildren; Violet Cardinal, Michael Marshall, Joshua Marshall, Maribeth Degraves, Rebekah Marshall, Caleb Marshall, Daniel Marshall, Leah Whitesell, and Benjamin Marshall.

A Memorial service for Pat will be lead by Rev. Steve McClary at South Anna Baptist Church on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 9071 Cross County Rd, Mineral, VA at 5:00 pm. The family invites you to share in their celebration of her life and her return home.
