Heather Renee Schwartz, age 52, daughter of David and Alta Schwartz of Louisa, and sister to Julius Schwartz of Charlottesville, passed away on Sept 4, 2026, after 7 months of a very aggressive form of brain cancer, a glioblastoma. Heather had excellent care and was comfortable and at peace at passing. She was cared for by her daughter, Amalia Contreras, and husband Josue, at their home in Texas, and her son, Austin, of Spring Hill, Florida, with the caring assistance of hospice. According to her wishes, the body was cremated, and a small, private memorial service will be held later.

Heather was graduated from Louisa County High School in 1993. Her passion and career was early childhood education, training preschool teachers, and educating health professionals on the social determinants of health. Since she was always concerned about the conditions of those less fortunate, we ask that instead of flowers and other gifts to us, that donations in her name be given to organizations that serve the needy. She will be missed greatly, as her life on earth has been a blessing to us all.
