David “Johnny” John Stanley, 73, of Bumpass, VA, passed away on October 22nd, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, John George.

A truly remarkable man of many skills, a talented fixer, inventor, and hardworking soul who could turn his hand to just about anything.

David was a truck driver and skilled logger, he spent his life embracing the outdoors. Whether he was tending to his garden, inventing something new, or bringing broken things back to life, he took great pride in everything he built and repaired.

His legacy lives on through his daughter, Angela “Angie” Stanley; grandson, Sebastian Sayers; and his sisters, Pat Johnson (Randy), Peggy Harris, Ellen Adkins, Janie Slayden, Doris Stanley and Pam Moore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, his special friend, Karen Price, and his faithful, beloved dog, Macho Man.

His strength, ingenuity, and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family welcomes friends for visitation on Friday, October 30th, 2026, starting at 10 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. at Woodward Funeral Home.

Interment is private to the family.
