Mary Jane Clarke, 94, of Louisa Va. passed away at her home on October 22nd, 2026. She was born June 12th, 1932, and was raised in Sussex VA., the daughter of the late Lucille Parson and Lawrence Tyus. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years James A. Clarke, Sr.

She had three sons James A. Jr. (Jack), David and wife Cassandra, and Donald Gray and wife Virginia, deceased. Six grandchildren: Peyton, Talbot, James A.III (Archer), Sloane, Taylor, Dalton and wife Amanda, and two great grandchild Brooklyn and Dylan.

She graduated from Stony Creek High School in 1949 in Stony Creek, VA. She then went on to graduate from Longwood in 1953 and later receive a Masters from UVA. She was a teacher from 1956 to 1991 in the counties of Southhampton, Amelia, and Lousia, and ended her career as the principal of the Louisa Middle School. She enjoyed watching college and professional sports and was very active with community services. She served on the Town Council of Louisa.

Memorial Service will be held on 2PM Nov 7th 2026, at Louisa United Methodist Church.
