Thursday, May 7 The 75th Annual National Day of Prayer Community Prayer Service will be held at Noon on the Louisa County courthouse lawn, with live music beginning at 11:30 a.m. This nondenominational service will be led by community leaders and pastors, elected officials and local citizens. In case of rain, the service will be held at New Life Community Church, 509 E. Main Street, Louisa.
Join the Louisa Arts Center for a fun evening of mini golf, community, and friendly competition as they kick off their Birdies for Charity campaign.
This special fundraiser helps support arts programming, education, and community events in Louisa. The event will start at 6:00 p.m. at Boardwalk Miniature Golf at Lake Anna (200 Boardwalk Way, Mineral). A raffle will also be held during the event with prizes. Friday, May 8 The 25th Annual Mother Son Dance will be held at Betty Queen Center (522 Industrial Drive A, Louisa) from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event is designed for boys ages five to 13 and the special mother-figure in their lives.

A Mother’s Day Bake Sale that was scheduled to be held at St. James Episcopal Church from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. has been cancelled. For more information, call the church office at 540-967-1665.
The United Women in Faith of Louisa United Methodist Church will hold a Bake Sale from 8:00 a.m. to Noon in the church fellowship hall. A variety of cakes, pies, cookies, breads, rolls, and savory items, including chicken salad, will be available. The church is located at 100 E. Main Street, Louisa. The fellowship hall entrance and ample parking are located in the rear of the building off Woolfolk Avenue.
Louisa Arts Center (212 Fredericksburg Avenue, Louisa) invites the community to Open Studio Friday. Bring your project in progress and come create and collaborate with fellow artists. The event will take place from Noon to 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, May 13
Louisa Community Emergency Fund, Touching Lives in Crisis, will host the annual Bunco/Train Luncheon Fundraiser at Louisa United Methodist Church, 100 E. Main Street, Louisa, beginning at Noon. Enjoy a homemade lunch and then play Bunco dice game or Mexican Train dominoes with prizes for the high scorers. Reservations required in advance. Tickets are available by calling Lin Kogle 540-894-0239. Form a team of four or join another team to support this local non-profit that provides financial assistance to Louisa County residents who are facing a current crisis.

The Louisa County Commission on Aging and Louisa Parks and Recreation are sponsoring a Senior and Caregiver Picnic from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Betty Queen Center (522 Industrial Drive, Louisa). Enjoy great food, music, raffles and prizes! Vendors will be present to share information about services offered to Seniors in Louisa County.

A Grief Support Group Session
will be offered at St. James Episcopal Church (102 Ellisville Drive, Louisa) on from 10:30 a.m. to Noon. These groups are for those who have suffered and are still struggling with grief and loss. All are welcome.

Saturday, May 30 A reunion of all Louisa Eagle Scouts is being planned for May 30 at Bowood Barn, Louisa. This reunion is intended to honor Scouting in our community by celebrating people from Louisa who were Scoutmasters and those who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting over the past 70 years. To help make this event successful, the group is seeking assistance from individuals and local businesses through financial contributions or donations of goods and services that may be used as door prizes during the reunion. Any level of support would be greatly appreciated.

Celebrate Father’s Day weekend in style at the 2026 Lake Anna Business Partnership (LABP) Father’s Day Car Show & Contest, hosted at Pleasants Landing on Lake Anna (349 Pleasant Landing Road, Bumpass) from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring Dad, bring the family, and enjoy an afternoon filled with classic cars, custom builds, trucks, muscle cars, antiques, and specialty vehicles — all set against the waterfront views of Lake Anna.
