Robert Terry Johnson

Oct 16, 1945 – Jun 24, 2026

Robert Terry Johnson, 80, of Mineral, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence “Shorty” Ivy Johnson Sr. and Alice Spicer Johnson, and his brother, Clarence “CI” Ivy Johnson Jr. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patsy” Hart Johnson; daughters Avery DeVries Johnson and Hayley Johnson Zauner (Nick), grandchildren Alice “Allie” Dorothy Romaine and Rowan Kaspar Zauner, nephew Jeffrey Tyler Johnson, niece Courtney Johnson Barber (Rich); and two great-nephews.

The heart of Terry’s life was his family. For 51 years Patsy was his steadfast partner, the one he built everything with, who leaned on him through every season, and with whom he made a home and raised two daughters. To Avery and Hayley, he was their Daddy; he was their safe place, their most trusted confidant, and their constant through every chapter of life. His love wasn’t loud, but it was never in doubt. To grandchildren Allie and Rowan, he was simply Papa, and that was everything. The joy he took in all of them was quiet, deep, and unmistakable to anyone who knew him.

Born in Louisa, VA on October 16, 1945 and raised in Mineral, Terry graduated from Louisa County High School in 1964. He worked in the Armenian Mines in Giles, VA before joining Stone and Webster, where he helped survey what would become Lake Anna. He went on to spend years at Virginia Power (Dominion) at the North Anna Power Station. Later in life, a growing love for computers led him to start PATH Enterprises from his home, serving his community and church, before retiring from Virginia Community Bank as their IT Specialist.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Mineral Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Mineral Baptist Church. The family requests that those wishing to honor Terry’s memory consider a contribution to Mineral Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
