Supporting LCEF
Becky Chidester, representing Louisa Catholic’s Social Ministries, recently presented two large donations to Lin Kogle, Louisa Community Emergency Fund (LCEF) Chairperson. One check is for LCEF’s crisis assistance program (housing and utility payments) and the other for the Louisa Homeless Coalition (winter nighttime shelters). LCEF greatly appreciates our generous Catholic partners in helping our community!
LCRC names Goodwin new director
LCRC is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Goodwin as its new Executive Director, effective March 30. Goodwin succeeds Lloyd Runnett, who led the organization for more than a decade.
How a flat tire didn’t ruin Movie Night
I have an older Ford F-150 pickup that our family uses as a secondary vehicle and for the occasional trip to the landfill. Recently, it had been sitting for a while, and with the weather warming up and summer on the horizon, I figured it was probably time for a tune-up.
Can-do attitude
I have long believed that the world is run by those who not only show up, but by those who show up with a problem-solving attitude. People show up for work, parenting, volunteering or any other human activity with a variety of attitudes – many of them with an attitude that whatever they are doing is drudgery (i.e., they’d rather be anywhere else doing almost anything else).

The Louisa County Chamber of Commerce (CoC) hosted an “AI impact hour for nonprofits” on March 25. Local leaders from nine different community organizations gathered to learn more about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and share with each other how they are using it to enhance their productivity in their nonprofits.
