On Friday, April 3rd, representatives from localities impacted by the proposed Valley Link Project convened in Louisa County to discuss local impacts and potential paths forward. Attendees included board representatives and staff from Louisa, Orange, Appomattox, Spotsylvania, Culpeper, Fluvanna, Buckingham, and Goochland.

Concerns over Virginia’s proposed redistricting amendment and the integrity of electronic voting systems dominated a March 26 Louisa Tea Party meeting at Roma’s Italian Restaurant, where speakers and attendees debated issues ranging from political power to whether local election equipment should be independently tested.

One check is for LCEF’s crisis assistance program (housing and utility payments) and the other for the Louisa Homeless Coalition (winter nighttime shelters). LCRC names Goodwin new director
LCRC is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Goodwin as its new Executive Director, effective March 30. Goodwin succeeds Lloyd Runnett, who led the organization for more than a decade.
How a flat tire didn’t ruin Movie Night
I have an older Ford F-150 pickup that our family uses as a secondary vehicle and for the occasional trip to the landfill. Recently, it had been sitting for a while, and with the weather warming up and summer on the horizon, I figured it was probably time for a tune-up.
Can-do attitude
I have long believed that the world is run by those who not only show up, but by those who show up with a problem-solving attitude. People show up for work, parenting, volunteering or any other human activity with a variety of attitudes – many of them with an attitude that whatever they are doing is drudgery (i.e., they’d rather be anywhere else doing almost anything else).
