Louisa County Historical Society will host a free Heritage Day at 214 Fredericksburg Ave, Louisa from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Experience the richness of Louisa County history and step back in time through living history demonstrations including hearth-cooking, spinning, blacksmithing, and more. The event will include children’s activities, craft and food vendors, and music. Heritage Day will be held rain or shine.
Macedonia Global Methodist Church Women’s Group will hold their annual yard sale from 8:00 to 12:00. The entire social hall is overflowing with household items, clothes, furniture, etc. Proceeds go to supporting community and church projects. The church is located at 17 Byrd Mill Road, Louisa.
Louisa United Methodist Church will host a Free Family Movie Night at 6:00 p.m. The movie will be “The Bad Guys” rated PG, with popcorn and snacks provided. All are welcome. Parking is behind the church at 100 E Main Street, Louisa.
Join the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for their Annual K9 5K Run/Walk. This event helps raise funds for LCSO’s community programs and the LCSO K9 Unit. Whether you’re an experienced runner or just getting started, this rolling 5K course with a downhill finish is a great way to challenge yourself while supporting a cause. Children 6-15 years of age with special needs are invited to participate in an afternoon experiencing the joy of fishing with the assistance of the Youth Anglers from the Lake Anna Elite Anglers fishing team from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Lake Anna State Park. The Virginia Chapter of Breakthrough T1D (Type 1 Diabetes) is hosting a fundraising walk to build community and raise money to cure Type 1 Diabetes for Albemarle, Louisa, Green, Fluvanna and Nelson counties, as well as the City of Charlottesville. The walk starts at 11 a.m. at Walnut Creek Park (4250 Walnut Creek Park, North Garden). Registration is requested. Belmont Club of Women will hold a
Plants and More Yard Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Belmont Community Center, 7124 Belmont Road, Mineral.
Select from a wide range of plants from the gardens of Deep Roots Home and Garden Center, including perennials, annuals and other garden favorites. Funds raised will benefit local charities and scholarship programs in Spotsylvania, Orange and Louisa Counties, as well as upkeep of The Belmont Community Center.

Mineral Baptist Church (51 Louisa Avenue, Mineral) will host manna & melodies on Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. It will be an afternoon of youthled worship, creative arts ministry, and music, praise & fellowship. The potluck luncheon theme will be Mexican foods and attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite dish to share.
Ebenezer United Methodist Church (3092 Oakland Road, Louisa) will hold a Homecoming starting at 10:00 a.m. All are invited to join for worship, song, food and fellowship. Music will be provided by Jeff Stone and the Virginia Gospel Singers, followed by lunch. Share memories with old friends and make new ones.

Thursday, May 7 The 75th Annual National Day of Prayer Community Prayer Service will be held at Noon on the Louisa County courthouse lawn, with live music beginning at 11:30 a.m. This non-denominational service will be led by community leaders and pastors, elected officials and local citizens. In case of rain, the service will be held at New Life Community Church, 509 E. Main Street, Louisa.
Friday, May 8 The 25th Annual Mother Son Dance will be held at Betty Queen Center (522 Industrial Drive A, Louisa) from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event is designed for boys ages five to 13 and the special motherfigure in their lives. Louisa Community Emergency Fund, Touching Lives in Crisis, will host the annual Bunco/Train Luncheon Fundraiser at Louisa United Methodist Church, 100 E. Main Street, Louisa, beginning at Noon. Enjoy a homemade lunch and then play Bunco dice game or Mexican Train dominoes with prizes for the high scorers. Reservations required in advance. Form a team of four or join another team to support this local non-profit that provides financial assistance to Louisa County residents who are facing a current crisis.
