Valley Link no benefit to rural residents

TO THE EDITOR:

Here’s the message that Valley Link is really saying to the residents of Louisa and the other 8 counties — we devalue you and your land; therefore, we are willing to allow for high voltage electromagnetic radiation fields, noise pollution, contaminated water to replace the peace and quiet that currently exists. This proposed 115-mile 765-kV transmission line will not benefit anyone in these 9 counties — the simple fact is we already have electricity; what we will end up with is higher energy bills!

These billionaire energy companies must be accountable for destruction they create by coming through the rural areas to supply energy to unwanted data centers. Our land is not undeveloped or without value — we love and appreciate the natural beauty of our century old family farms, our forever homes, our schools, and our churches.

We must fight against environmental redlining and the stealing of our property — we must come together to fight against Valley Link’s proposed 115-mile 765kV transmission line.

Willing to fight to the end, MARIE JONES Louisa
