County honors Eagle Scout Ryan Stacey for community service project

During the Louisa County Board of Supervisors regular meeting on April 27, supervisors recognized local student Ryan Stacey for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor obtainable in scouting.

As part of his Eagle Scout project, Stacey designed and constructed a Flag Disposition Box, a community resource intended to provide residents with a respectful means of retiring worn or damaged American flags in accordance with proper protocol. The box was displayed during the meeting, which was attended by members of Stacey’s family and numerous peers.

County Administrator Christian Goodwin read a resolution honoring Stacey’s achievement, noting that the project reflects pride, patriotism, and respect.

Louisa District Supervisor Manning Woodward presented Stacey with a plaque and offered words of commendation.

“You are a great example for the young people of the whole country, and we are proud that you are a Louisa County citizen. It’s a real honor to present this to you tonight,” Woodward said.

Stacey thanked the Board of Supervisors for the recognition and received applause from those in attendance. Mineral District Supervisor Duane Adams also provided an opportunity for each of the attending Boy Scouts to introduce themselves.

Stacey’s project was highlighted as an example of leadership, initiative, and community service, while also creating a lasting resource for residents of Louisa County.
