She was born August 2, 1931 in Sutton, WV, a daughter of the late Burke and Delphia Johnson.

Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Nicholas County High School in Summersville, WV. She attended Marshall University for two years, as a business major.

In 1953 Barbara married Frank D Amick, who was a corporal in the US Army. They lived in Paris, France for two years while Frank worked as a funeral director of the American Hospital in Paris. Barbara became a young widow when Frank died suddenly in 1987.

She remained a widow for eight years until she reconnected with an old friend from high school, David M Champe. David and Barbara married and moved to Ebensburg, PA, where they lived until their declining health necessitated a move closer to family. They were faithful members of the Ebensburg United Methodist Church. One of their favorite pastimes was traveling in their motor home to WVU football games and wintering in FL.

Barbara spent her last years in Louisa, VA to be near her son Jeff and daughter in law Kim and family. She enjoyed reading, watching TV westerns, WVU football and basketball games, painting and coloring, a good margarita, eating out, sweets, the beach and being with her family.

She is survived by her son Jeff Amick (Kim) and their children Ryan Amick (Melissa); Jason Amick (Stephanie); and Camdynne Moore (Kyle). She is also survived by her daughter in law Wanda Amick and children Taylor Amick (Breanna) and Matt Amick. She was a wonderful step mom to David W Champe (Debby) and children David J Champe (Lauren) and Benjamin Lauffer (Maggie). Her great grandchildren brought her much joy and laughter in her later years. They include, Kaylen (Trey) and Asher Amick; Easton Amick; Avie Christian, Kennon and Corra Lee Moore; Owen and Ella Amick; David D and Riley Champe; Jonathan and Cate Lauffer.

She was also survived by many nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
