Local Tea Party meets, discusses redistricting, election integrity

Concerns over Virginia’s proposed redistricting amendment and the integrity of electronic voting systems dominated a March 26 Louisa Tea Party meeting at Roma’s Italian Restaurant, where speakers and attendees debated issues ranging from political power to whether local election equipment should be independently tested.

Beverly Johnson Duval

Beverly Johnson Duval, 82, of Kents Store, VA, passed away on March 23, 2026. She was born on October 23, 1943, to the late Vernon and Bernice Johnson. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Ivanhoe R. “Jack” Duval; her brothers Gilbert Johnson (Peggy) and Delmas Johnson (Ellen).

Frances Gail Blevins Goodman

Frances Gail Blevins Goodman, 74, of Bumpass, VA passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at her residence. She was born February 22, 1952 to the late Hillary E. Blevins and Mary Blevins Sharpe. Gail is also preceded in death by her husband, William “Pappy” Goodman, Jr.; sister, Becky Lowry Ruth; and brother, Alfred Blevins.She is survived by four children, Cynthia Chenault (Gary), Jennifer “Worm” Goodman, William “Dino” Goodman, III (Angela), and Christopher “Rudy” Goodman (Mistie); two grandchildren, Lauren and Cole Goodman; a sister, Mary Lowry; and a brother, Wayne Sharpe. Graveside services will be held at her home at the family cemetery (Rolling Hills Fox Pen) on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
