July 30 - August 1 The Louisa County Fair returns to Walton Park (301 E 6th Street, Mineral). Experience local agriculture, explore vendor row, enjoy great food, and take in live music and shows across the fairgrounds. There is always something happening at the county fair, from the 4-H barns to the Main Stage. The event will start Thursday with Special Sensory Hours from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by General Admission from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. For details and to buy tickets online, visit LouisaCountyFair.com.

It takes my husband and me forever to watch a movie at home. We’re forever pressing the pause button so we can get a snack. Or let the cat inside from the screen porch. Or go to the bathroom. Or get another snack. Or let the cat back out. You get the idea!

When I design worship services, I plan for all of the parts to amplify the theme for the day. The one wild card each week is the children’s time, what we like to call “young disciples’ time” at one of my churches.

Back-to School immunization clinics; Louisa County Fair

The Blue Ridge Health District is hosting Back-to-School Immunization Clinics July 28 through August 2 to provide school-required vaccines for Fall 2026. These clinics are a mix of appointment only and walk-in only. Call 540-967-3703 for details and to schedule an appointment.
